Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026

The Arts Theatre, operated by Adelaide Repertory Theatre Incorporated, respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information through our website, enquiries, donations and mailing list. We aim to handle personal information in accordance with applicable Australian privacy law, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles where they apply.

Information we collect and why

When you join our mailing list or a ticket pre-sale list, we collect your name, email address, signup source and marketing preferences. We use these to send the updates and marketing you agree to receive, including show announcements, ticket offers, theatre news and fundraising information. A pre-sale signup is not a ticket booking or a reservation.

When you contact us, make a donation or arrange a booking, we may collect contact details, your enquiry, transaction details and other information you choose to provide. We use this information to respond, deliver services, keep appropriate records and meet legal obligations. Payment and ticketing providers may collect payment details under their own privacy policies. Please do not send card details through an enquiry form.

You may browse without joining our mailing list. Providing information is optional, but we may be unable to send an update, respond or process a transaction without the necessary details.

Email marketing

We may use external companies to manage our mailing lists and send marketing emails on our behalf.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in our marketing emails, or contact us to update your preferences. Withdrawing marketing consent does not prevent necessary communications about a booking or transaction you have made.

Service providers and overseas processing

We share information where needed with service providers that support our website, email, ticketing, payments and administration, and where required or authorised by law. Access is intended to be limited to people and providers who need it for these purposes.

Personal information may be processed by external service providers in Australia or overseas.

Website data and cookies

Essential cookies and browser storage support website security, bookings and payments. Our optional cookies measure website visits and advertising. One choice controls analytics and advertising measurement: both stay off until you select Accept optional cookies. You can reject them without affecting signup or booking, or withdraw consent through Cookie settings at the bottom of the page. We remember your choice for six months; earlier separate choices do not grant this combined permission.

We use Google Analytics to measure website visits. Google receives cookie identifiers, controlled page addresses, recognised traffic-source and campaign labels, browser and device information, and connection information including your IP address. It may process this information outside Australia. We do not send names, email addresses, phone numbers, form entries, booking references or payment details to Google Analytics. We exclude raw URL query strings, fragments and referrer addresses, disable automatic interaction tracking and advertising personalisation, and do not link analytics to customer accounts.

Analytics cookies expire after one year and are removed when you withdraw consent. Google’s Privacy Policy explains its processing. You can also manage cookies through your browser settings.

On pages with advertising measurement, the Meta Pixel shares visits, completed pre-sale signups, checkout starts and confirmed purchases with Meta. This can include your IP address, browser information, page address, advertising identifiers and purchase value in Australian dollars. Our integration does not send form contents, names, email addresses, phone numbers or seating and dietary requests to Meta. Automatic advanced matching is disabled.

Withdrawing cookie consent stops future measurement and removes the providers’ accessible browser cookies; it does not remove information they have already received. Cookie consent is separate from email marketing consent. Meta may process information overseas and use it under its Privacy Policy. Browser blocking, consent choices and leaving payment without returning may prevent conversion reporting; our booking records remain the source of truth.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, disclosure or alteration. No online service is completely secure. We retain information for the purposes for which it was collected and any required legal or administrative records. Limited unsubscribe records may be retained to respect your preference not to receive marketing.

Access, correction and privacy concerns

You can ask to access or correct your information, request removal from our mailing list, or raise a privacy concern by emailing enquiries@artstheatresa.com or using our contact page. Please describe your request and the email address or interaction concerned. We may need to verify your identity before releasing or changing information.

We will consider and respond to privacy requests and complaints within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner for information about available complaint options.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy at any time and without notice. The current version and update date will be published on this page.
